Forget the Ritz…..La Concha is the place to stay!!!

Re-girl just returned from Puerto Rico. After checking with many people….she decided to book the Ritz!!! Usually…you cant go wrong with a Ritz….or so she thought!

If you are going to San Juan for relaxation, I repeat DO NOT book the RITZ. Unless you don’t mind screaming babies at IL MULINO, kids peeing in the pool, stained towels with make-up thats definitely not yours, and moldy fruit salad. This was more like a Zoo, than a 5 star resort.  In fact, I think a Best Western would be more posh.

After a busy few months of Real Estate…..I was so looking forward to checking into the Ritz, drinking mojitos, and working on my tan. Upon arrival, we had to wait in a 20 minute line to check-in. Seriously, where was I? Roach motel? As soon as I enter the room, I notice an extra light bulb on the toilet seat. I guess at the Ritz, San Juan if something breaks they subscribe to the do it yourself method and leave it there for you. How nice of them?! Then I go to take a shower and the shower curtain was all stained. It reminded me of back in my Spring Break Days in Cancun when I found gum on my pillow case. Oh the horror! As someone who is a hotel snob, but also very grateful of being able to stay at the best hotels…..I was absolutely disgusted with the Ritz.

Upon some local’s suggestions, a few hours later and a comped meal at Il Mulino, I checked out of the Ritz and into La Concha. La Concha was the best kept secret.

As soon as I stepped into the Boutique lobby with 3 different bars, a sushi restaurant, and cute boutique…..I knew I was going to be good. There were no screaming kids and there were 5 different pools with some of the most fabulous beach areas I have seen my life. The rooms were hip and cool with modern furniture and sexy bathrooms that were open to the bedroom. Also the prices were the biggest steal. 169 for a suite, the Ritz was 400!!! This is the best bang for your buck. Also, if you love to shop like me. Louis Vuitton, Christian Laboutin, and Gucci are all across the street.
